Just did a QuickBooks demo for a group of freelance Bookkeeper. The usual questions that freelance Bookkeeper asks were “Can I create multiple company files in QuickBooks?”
Well, this is one of the selling features in QuickBooks. QuickBooks does allow you to create multiple company files. It just like those Word Processor software that you have, QuickBooks company files will not associate with the QuickBooks installation key code. To QuickBooks it is just another file created.
I understand that in the market there are some accounting software that limit you to have “1” or “5” company files, but in QuickBooks I have not see any limitation in creating new company files. In my computer alone (exclude my backup hard drive), from Jan 2009 till now, I already have more than 100 files from my clients.
