QuickBooks crashed when performing a verify data

This week there is a case reported that when a user was trying to perform a Verify Data to her QuickBooks Company File, her QuickBooks 2007/08 Asia version crashed. 

If I remember correctly, this problem only happens to the first batch of the QuickBooks 2007/08 Asia version (that is about 2 years back). The problem of QuickBooks crash during verification of data only applied to those who installed QuickBooks 2007/08 Asia version onto Window Vista operating systems. 

For those who have bought the first batch of QuickBooks 2007/08 Asia version, need to install Service Pack 1 to resolve this issue. You can download the Service Pack 1 from either Reckon or Qcom web site.

To install the Service Pack 1:

  • Simply shut down your QuickBooks.
  • Run Service Pack 1
  • Launch QuickBooks 2007/08 Asia

QuickBooks will prompt you to apply a newly installed Service Pack, just follow the wizard to complete installing the QuickBooks 2007/08 Asia Service Pack 1.

Once Service Pack successfully installed, you will able to perform Verify Data and Rebuild Data without any problem.
