If you didn’t set a password during the setup of the QuickBooks company file, you may do so from the Company menu | Set Up Users and Passwords | Change your password.
Enter the password in the “New Password” field and re-enter once more at the “Confirm New Password” field. Then, select a Challenge Question and enter your answer at the “Answer” field.
Note: Don’t forget the password which you had set and also the challenge question and answer you used. You are required to enter this information when you decided to change the password.
