Click on the magnifying glass at the top right corner of the QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounting software page and enter the keywords you wish to search, and QuickBooks will pull out a list of transactions containing the keyword. Then, click the transaction shown on the list to edit or view the details.

Alternatively, you can use the ‘Advanced Search’ feature to search for a list of related transactions. For example, you wish to print a list of depreciation journals within a date range.

You first click on the magnifying glass (search feature) and select ‘Advanced Search’ at the bottom of the page. Since you are going to search for the depreciation journal, you may set the search condition as:

Transaction type: Journal entries
Search by: account (or you may use line description according to your preference)
Operator: Contains or equal
keyword: depreciation (the account name or description)

Click the Search button to shortlist your data.

Next, click the Filter button and set the date range to further filter your data.
